Browlift Photos - Case #2392

54 year old female, 5 feet 10 inches, 160 lbs, smoker, who was unhappy with the appearance of her upper eyes. She felt she looked tired all the time and wished to rejuvenate her appearance. On exam it was noted that her brow position was low and a browlift was planned to correct the brow position and to help smooth the skin of the upper lids. She wished to avoid general anesthesia, if possible, so a subcutaneous browlift under local anesthesia, as an outpatient, was planned. The subcutaneous browlift is preformed by an incision in the hairline at the top of the forehead on each side. A tunnel beneath the skin is made down to the brow and then an ellipse of forehead skin is removed, resulting in an elevation of the brow. Her post operative photos were taken 2 months after surgery showing an excellent elevation of her brow from her subcutaneous browlift. The remaining loose tissue of her upper eyelids may be corrected with a blepharoplasty in the future.
