Facelift Photos - Case #3906

62 year old female, nonsmoker, who wanted to rejuvenate her appearance. She had chosen facial plastic surgery to address her concerns which was to smooth the skin contours of her cheeks, smooth and straighten her jaw line and minimize the bands in her neck and smooth the lax skin of her neck. Her goal from her facelt/necklift was to look natural and refreshed. She also wished to improve the appearance of her eyes which she felt made her look tired due to excess skin of her upper eyelids and fat herniation of her lower lids She chose to undergo a facelift/necklift with upper and lower blepharoplasty. Her facelift/necklift was done with lateral SMAS plication and midline suturing of the medial edges of the platysmal muscle to improve her neck contour. The SMAS was sutured in a posterior/vertical vector to reestablish a sharp, smooth jawline and efface the neck bands, and improve midface deflation. Skin redraping was done in a vertical vector for her facelift/necklift. A skin only upper blepharoplasty was done to preserve as much volume in the upper lids as possible in this athletic individual, and a conservative fat removal from the lower eyelids with minimal skin resection improved the lower eyelid contour. Her post facelift/necklift and upper and lower blepharoplasty photos were taken 7 weeks after her surgery. She has achieved her desired rejuvenated appearance. The appearance of her eyes is more youthful and alert, with smoothed contours of upper and lower eyelid skin. Her jawline is straight and smooth with a youthful, athletic appearance. Her facial and neck skin laxity is improved. The patient is very pleased with her rejuvenation.
