50 year old female, nonsmoker, 5 feet 9 inches, after significant weight loss who wished to have a facelift to rejuvenate her facial appearance. Her concerns were deflation in her midface, poor jawline definition, with jowls and laxity of the neck. She underwent a facelift/rhytidectomy combining lateral plication of the SMAS layer in a vertical direction and lateral platysma muscle tightening, suturing of the platysma muscle in the midline of the neck with skin redraping in a vertical/posterior direction. Her post facelift/rhytidectomy photos were taken 1 month after her surgery and show a rejuvenated appearance with additional midface volume accenting her cheek bones, a smoothed and straightened jawline with elimination of her jowls and a youthful, athletic neck contour. She is very pleased with the result of her face/rhytidectomy.
